Technology in Education Research Group (TEdu) investigates the usage of the newest Web-based technologies in educational practices both in schools and in higher education. The group is founded in the beginning of 2009 but the two founder members have worked as researchers in the University of Helsinki already over 10 years (see the Centre for Research on Networked Learning and Knowledge Building). The group is multidisciplinary by nature with researchers representing expertise in various domains of knowledge, such as psychology, education and cognitive science. The Group participates intensively in research collaboration with many national and international partners.

The research of the group focuses on the following topics:

  • usage of ICT in schools and higher education institutions in general
  • the development of technology-enhanced pedagogical and knowledge practices in educational settings
  • supporting teachers and educators in pedagogically meaningful usage of ICT
  • institutional level differences and solutions in organizing and supporting the educational usage of ICT
  • networking of teachers and educational institutions
